No One's Daughter

I was no one's daughter when

I was someone's

Pornographic slave

Forced to be a woman

At the wrong age

A filthy fucked up lie

Hidden in the closet

To the world the fallacy's spun

A filthy whore who begged for the deposit

I was no one's daughter when

I was someone's

Lesson in violence

Learn to bleed without crying

Punching bag across my skin

Last shove down the stairs

Last whispered threat

"If you tell a soul, your head's done in."

Hands wrapped around me

Find a hiding place for the bruise

A mouth then made voiceless

A body made to be abused

I was no one's daughter when

I was

Sleeping on a park bench

Negative 14 degrees in

Shivering through bone,

Praying for an ending,

Left to figure it out on my own

I was someone's daughter

To

Swallow their guilt,

Make them look good

While I rot in filth

Hold the secrets

Mirror their lies

Protect them all

With hollowed out eyes

An empty shell

Groomed to act like everything was well

As I burned beneath their hell

I was the opportunity

A number on a form

When they needed my story

To justify their norm

I was someone’s paycheck

A name to file away

Bought and sold for their gain

Yet never once asked to stay

No one's daughter then?

No one's daughter now

I cut the strings

Tear the claim down

They lost a puppet

For their golden cash cow
