Learning to laugh at myself was the moment I realized that my life was not an epic failure, it's just free comedy material that I’ve been sitting on this whole time.
_______
The profound connection between laughter and pain helps me cope with and make sense of my life’s toughest moments. I use humor as a way to process my own trauma and pain and connect with others who may share a similar experience to me. By weaving satire into my writing, I can tackle the difficult, often unspoken emotions that come with those experiences. Humor allows me to break down walls, creating a space where I can laugh at the absurdity of it all and recognize that I am not alone. It’s my way of turning pain into something we can all relate to, and maybe, even heal from together.
