Her Wealth Is the Light They Will Never Forget

Writer's picture: RoseRose

There was a little girl neglected from the start,

she was left in the shadows yet remained fierce in her heart.

Wealthy in compassion's embrace, she learned to forgive,

finding strength in kindness became her reason to live.

A spirit unbroken through her life's endless war,

A heart full of love from which she would forever pour.

Now a grown woman, as she was coming into her own,

her voice had stopped shaking and she found herself standing alone.

She had lost everything yet she still stood tall,

so they assumed her silence was arrogance, they wouldn't perceive the weight of her fall.

Assuming her distance was pride on display,

they failed to see that circumstances had stolen her way.

Amongst one another they called her a bitch with laughter and spite,

unknowing the battles she fought every night.

They laughed at her struggles the battles she lost,

and mocked her misfortune blind to the cost.

To them she became merely a joke to tell,

too poor to matter too worn to dwell.

Their cruel words were spit as they refused to see,

the wealth within that she carried quietly.

She sat with those who mocked her name,

she helped those who'd later bring her shame.

With open hands she gave them her all,

little aware they are the cause of her fall.

They cared not for the love she gave,

they only wanted what they sought to save.

Yet none see her riches the wealth she hides,

for it's not in gold or worldly tides.

Her fortune lies in the strength she gives,

in every soul that she helps to live.

Her support like roots and it holds others strong,

they lean on her when all goes wrong.

Her voice though quiet lifts them high,

they find their wings and remember they can fly.

She is rich beyond their superficial sight,

a queen adorned in an unseen light.

One day they will know, their blindness a debt,

her wealth is the light they will never forget.

Although poor in coins, the richness is in her soul,

she is the one who helps the broken remember that they're whole.

But in their silence, her voice became thunder,

With every word spoken her chains fell asunder.

Words flowed like a river, fierce and unchained,

She spoke her truth boldly her spirit unfeigned.

She is now wiser and not wasting another breath,

on those who mocked her, unknowing to them, nearly to her death.

Acknowledging their cruelty she broke every chain

She is the force of resilience, she's embracing her reign
